About the Role
The MS Nurse Specialist will provide high-quality, specialist care to adult patients with established MS and those undergoing diagnosis. The role involves acting as a source of advice and information for patients, carers, and health professionals, and working collaboratively with other members of the MS team to improve MS care for the local population.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will be an advocate for patients, carers, and their families, promoting patient-focused care and acting as a resource for the multi-agency team. This will involve improving patient experience, preventing unnecessary ED attendances, hospital admissions, and decreasing length of stay.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with experience of working with patients with MS. They will have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and have the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines. A teaching or mentorship qualification and extended roles such as venepuncture or cannulation are desirable.
