We're seeking a skilled Team Leader to join our maintenance team, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our assets. As a Team Leader, you'll be responsible for establishing and enforcing safety protocols, controlling the quality of work, and ensuring that all team members are competent and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide your team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Maintenance Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • Quality Control: Proactively monitor and control the quality of work, ensuring that all assets are fully compliant and all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose.
  • Team Development: Identify and develop the skills of your team members, providing coaching and training to help them achieve their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Transferable Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to apply these skills in a dynamic maintenance environment.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience.
  • Driving Licence: Possess a valid driving licence (category B) to drive Network Rail vehicles.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift Work: Be prepared to work a range of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Outdoor Working: Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Safe Working: Pass a medical assessment and undergo regular drug and alcohol testing to ensure a safe working environment.
