Senior Practitioner - Safeguarding Specialist

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Safeguarding Team in Kingston, London. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in managing complex cases, providing support and guidance to individuals, children, carers, and families, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, including individuals, children, carers, and families, and provide support and guidance to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Use professional judgement to assess risk and accountability in decision-making, and take preventative action to ensure safety while balancing rights and risks.
  • Take the lead in managing positive interventions that prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing, and ensure safeguarding of people at risk of abuse or neglect.
  • Undertake assessment and planning for safeguarding in complex cases, and support colleagues in utilizing safeguarding skills in line with current policies and procedures.
  • Play a leading role in practice development, promote a learning culture, and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Deliver formal professional reflective supervision and provide guidance and advice on casework to less experienced qualified staff.
  • Take responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements, maintaining up-to-date case work records on the database as required.
  • Work within the Directorate's data protection policies and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Significant experience in safeguarding and risk management in social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
