Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen within the Diabetes and Endocrinology division. We are seeking a Senior Nursing Leader to guide and enhance this vital service.

Our ward, designated as C3, accommodates 14 patients with diabetes and endocrinology-related complexities, necessitating specialized care.

Working alongside a dedicated team of specialist nurses, the successful candidate will have the chance to develop their expertise in diabetes and endocrinology management, supported by training and leadership development programs.

Recently, Ward C3 achieved the prestigious GREEN status in the StARs accreditation process.

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will assist the Ward Manager in all facets of ward and departmental administration, playing a crucial role in coordinating and nurturing the nursing team to ensure that patients receive exemplary care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating patient care to ensure a smooth and timely treatment pathway.
  • Maintaining a visible and approachable presence in the clinical environment for patients and their families, serving as a positive role model.
  • Managing personal workload and adjusting priorities in response to emerging issues.
  • Recognizing and addressing urgent matters, reporting to relevant multidisciplinary team members as necessary.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager or Team Leader when required.
  • Keeping accurate ward management records and generating timely reports as requested.
  • Overseeing roster management to ensure safe staffing levels in accordance with the established workforce model.
  • Ensuring the delivery of compassionate, safe, and high-quality care to all patients while supervising junior staff and trainees.

Qualifications and Experience
