Job Summary:

The Ventilation Hygiene Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of ventilation systems across various environments, such as commercial, industrial, and residential properties. This position entails inspecting, maintaining, cleaning, and repairing HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, including fire dampers, to ensure they function optimally and comply with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of air quality laws, ductwork design, and modern cleaning methodologies.

Work hours consist of a 40-hour week (Monday to Friday), with opportunities for overtime during weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of ventilation systems, including fire dampers, to identify their condition, detect issues, and outline necessary maintenance and cleaning procedures.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Execute thorough cleaning of ducts, vents, filters, fire dampers, and other HVAC components utilizing specialized tools and techniques to eliminate dust, debris, mold, and other contaminants.

Repairs and Upgrades: Perform essential repairs and replacements of damaged or aging components, including fire dampers, to guarantee peak system performance. Propose and implement enhancements to boost system efficiency.

Fire Damper Testing: Conduct routine testing and certification of fire dampers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and effective performance during fire emergencies.

Documentation and Reporting: Keep precise records of inspections, maintenance tasks, repairs, and fire damper testing. Deliver detailed reports and recommendations to clients and management.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities conform to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines. Remain informed about relevant laws and best practices.

Qualifications / Training Preferred:

Must possess a valid UK Driving License

CSCS Card

IPAF Certification

PASMA Certification

Skills:

Dependable, punctual, and self-driven.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proven continuous work history.

Familiarity with safe working practices.

Comfortable utilizing engineering software on tablet devices.
