Deputy Team Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Team Manager to join our Adult Social Work team at Southwark Council. As a key member of our Intermediate Care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide management, professional expertise, and advice to ensure high-quality services are delivered.
  • Manage staff to ensure outcomes are safe and appropriate to the identified need.
  • Support the Team Manager in service development, safeguarding, professional supervision, and other management responsibilities.
  • Be accountable for the practice of our multi-disciplinary team and provide effective professional leadership, supervision, mentoring, and coaching to enhance the quality of practice.
  • Cover and lead the duty function within both Intermediate Care and Urgent Response.
  • Triaging incoming referrals to social care urgent response and case allocation within @Home.
  • Undertake timely allocation of work to the right person and effectively manage waiting lists and risk.
  • Authorise assessments and any other relevant work in a timely manner, ensuring a high standard.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with relevant teams and negotiate smooth transfers of case responsibility when appropriate.
  • Ensure safeguarding is a key priority and that effective systems and processes are in place for the investigation of all allegations and incidents of reported abuse.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England Registered (SWE)
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
