As a tech-enabled retrofit organization, we assist customers—primarily in the able-to-pay segment, while also providing access to non-means-tested subsidies—in generating financial returns and minimizing emissions through enhancements to their properties' energy and environmental performance. Role Overview
The primary focus of this position is to significantly enhance our commercial capabilities across both B2C and B2B2C channels, encompassing both subsidized and non-subsidized retrofit strategies, as well as direct and partner-fulfilled business models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Refining our existing customer offerings, emphasizing pricing strategies and service bundles, while providing strategic and commercial insights for new product and service development.
- Collaborating with our Supply Chain lead to enhance partner and contractor delivery models, ensuring Genous can price competitively and fulfill demand profitably, potentially by adopting schedule-of-rates approaches across various providers and regions.
- Establishing appropriate terms, payment schedules, and risk management protocols, with a long-term goal of optimizing margins and commercial value per customer.
- Gaining hands-on experience with potential partners, financial sources, delivery contractors, and other stakeholders, including government entities and subsidy programs.
- Working alongside the technology team to integrate necessary subsidy and pricing strategies into our offerings, while enhancing our pricing and costing frameworks.
- Assisting in the development of broader go-to-market partner commercial agreements.
- Supporting the successful execution and delivery of trials and rollouts of mortgage and go-to-market partnerships.
- Designing pricing structures and propositions for these initiatives, while addressing any commercial challenges presented by partners.
- Streamlining cost-to-serve throughout the entire customer journey by leveraging self-service options, technology deployment, and improved partner interactions.
- Providing support as needed for strategic initiatives and fundraising efforts.
- Depending on experience, contributing to the finance function's capabilities, including working capital and customer payment strategies, as well as treasury optimization.
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience in net zero or energy efficiency, preferably within the domestic renewables, home heating, or retrofit sectors, with a significant commercial focus in recent roles.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, including the ability to develop models, scenarios, and complex financial analyses.
- While financial qualifications are advantageous, they are not mandatory. A solid understanding of financial strategies, levers, and best practices is essential.
- Capability to manage projects effectively, both independently and collaboratively.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude, demonstrating organization, efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in teams or independently as required.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategic challenges and propose viable solutions.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
