We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Support Officer to join our team at the Scottish Police Authority. As a key member of our Forensic Services, you will play a vital role in providing support to help deliver an effective and efficient forensic service for the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to forensic scientists and other staff members in the laboratory and at crime scenes.
- Assist in the collection, processing, and analysis of evidence.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of forensic procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with other teams and agencies to ensure the effective delivery of forensic services.
- Participate in training and professional development to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education to Higher level or equivalent, with a proven experience within a laboratory environment.
- Relevant working experience in order to support familiarisation and on-the-job training for the role.
- Up-to-date working knowledge of all relevant legislation and guidelines, including Health and Safety, COSHH, and contamination guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
