We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Valerian Court Care Home. As a key member of our care home team, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant and well-maintained living space.

About the Role

As a Housekeeping Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Waste Management: Emptying waste bins and washing out metal wastepaper bins regularly.
  • Cleaning Tasks: Vacuuming throughout the care home, spot cleaning floorings, and cleaning dining rooms, lounges, and toilets.
  • Surface Cleaning: Shaking out cushions, cleaning taps, sinks, and soap dispenser outlets, and polishing mirrors.
  • Bathroom Care: Washing all bathroom, toilet, and en-suite floors, cleaning toothbrush holders, and all pipework in toilets.
  • Furniture Care: Dusting and polishing furniture, windowsills, and handrails. Moving mobile furniture to vacuum and dust beneath/behind.
  • Floor Maintenance: Washing lino floors, shampooing carpets as requested by the Home Manager, and ensuring all floor surfaces are clean.
  • Additional Tasks: Dusting light bulbs, curtains, pictures, and fittings. Restocking toiletries, soaps, and towels as needed.
