Position Overview

This role will ensure alignment with the overarching Net Zero Strategy and foster innovation within the capital investment framework through proven technologies. Additionally, the candidate will support the FGAS and Heat Decarbonisation initiatives through pilot programs, legislative assessments, and business updates. The role involves analyzing and understanding the factors driving energy consumption and spearheading proactive reduction strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the utility reduction strategy for the organization.
  • Assist in preparing documentation to inform the business about changes, including associated costs, paybacks, and return on investments.
  • Provide consistent tracking and validation of savings to assess performance against the energy budget and project plans.
  • Ensure that projects and changes positively impact customers, validated through data analysis, discussions, and insights.
  • Innovate and develop new energy-saving initiatives that can be implemented across operational teams.
  • Facilitate feedback sessions to ensure that changes in new locations align with the needs of colleagues and can be communicated effectively to customers.
  • Utilize effective communication channels to engage all employees in the energy reduction initiative.
  • Ensure that investments are incorporated into the broader Property Capital budget to align delivery vehicles with energy objectives.
  • Influence strategies to achieve the net zero target by 2035.
  • Ensure adherence to carbon and energy regulations.
  • Validate new projects to enhance returns and ensure successful business case execution.
  • Maximize value from Maintenance and Services teams through operational enhancements, innovative ideas, specification control, and cost reductions.
  • Deliver precise and informed analyses to support decision-making and insights.
  • Manage external contractors and consultants to optimize HVAC and Refrigeration Remote Monitoring services.
  • Lead regular problem-solving initiatives to mitigate risks and reduce consumption.
  • Secure appropriate investments to achieve net zero goals with the right commercial commitments.
  • Contribute to the department's annual budget to ensure expenditures align with established agreements and plans.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service quality, drive value, and reduce costs while increasing sales.
