Job Title: Building Officer

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Building Officer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the primary point of contact for tenants and their representatives regarding residential rent charges, arrears, and queries.
  2. Negotiate repayment plans, determining which cases to escalate and take legal action on, either internally or through referrals to legal services.
  3. Meet targets and objectives to maximise rent collection, influencing monthly and annual collection performance and arrears reduction.
  4. Liaise and correspond with tenants, the court service, external solicitors, other tenant representatives, fraud and investigation services, representing the Council's interests and providing a professional and responsive service.

Requirements:

  1. Knowledge of debt management procedures, including legal processes, rent, and service charge setting principles.
  2. Understanding of equal opportunities in service delivery and provision, actively promoting ways to eradicate racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination.
  3. Experience in applying housing income collection procedures and policies.
