Our newly established, upscale care facility is situated in a picturesque area. We offer tailored Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Palliative & Nursing care for 78 residents.

As a Culinary Specialist, you will collaborate with the Head Chef to provide exceptional meals for our residents while ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently.

Contract Details for Culinary Specialist (Bank)

  • £12.50 per hour
  • Flexible zero hours contract
  • Pension plan
  • 5.6 weeks of annual leave

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Mandatory

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or in progress)
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certification.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to work independently

Preferred

  • Experience in food preparation for the relevant Service User group.
  • Previous experience in a care setting is beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve both hot and cold meals as needed.
  • Support junior kitchen staff with various tasks.
  • Conduct Basic Food Hygiene training for all care staff involved in food handling and delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Keep accurate records of food supplies and monitor freezer/fridge temperatures.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and verifying deliveries.
  • Uphold statutory Health & Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure all dishes and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
