About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Birmingham Building Structures team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our ambitious plans to develop and grow the Building Design practice in the midlands and across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structural solutions for a wide range of building structures using conventional engineering materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) to Eurocodes.
  • Use structural analysis design software (Robot Structural Analysis and Revit experience is desirable) to create detailed designs and models.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplined project team to develop conceptual solutions to problems through to detailed design.
  • Assist in the execution of projects within defined design and cost parameters.
  • Present results to clients under supervision of an AtkinsRéalis lead designer.
  • Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures.
  • Be aware of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.

Requirements

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Graduate Member of relevant body (IStructE or ICE).
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Membership (IStructE or ICE).
  • Proven experience in the design of structures using conventional engineering materials to Eurocodes.
  • Experience in the use of structural analysis design software (Robot Structural Analysis and Revit experience is desirable).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships.
  • A flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility given.
  • Ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
