Job Title: Senior Structures Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structures Engineer to join our Consulting Structures Team in the South West. As a Senior Structures Engineer, you will provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on a variety of Structures schemes while taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions.
  • Taking ownership and leading projects from start to finish, from preparing the quotation all the way to handover.
  • Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the criteria of quality, cost, and programme.
  • Contributing to the professional development of junior staff and acting as a Delegated Engineer.
Requirements:
  • Developed experience and expertise within the Structures field, probably gained in an Engineer role or equivalent.
  • An ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and Client's requirements.
  • Very good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools.
  • Demonstrates good commercial awareness.
  • Has a good understanding of CDM and risk assessment.
  • Substantially experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks on projects and ensures appropriate risk mitigation and transference has been applied.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning.
