Key Responsibilities
  • Chairing Child Protection Planning Meetings and Reviews.
  • Conducting Reviews for Looked After and Accommodated Children.
  • Engaging in face-to-face meetings primarily within the Local Children and Families Social Work office.
  • Occasional travel may be required for reviews involving children and young people residing outside the Authority.
Candidate Requirements

We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker with substantial experience in a statutory Children and Families Social Work environment. Previous supervisory and managerial experience is advantageous.

While this role does not involve direct staff management, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Challenge practices when necessary.
  • Perform regular quality assurance tasks.

Applicants must possess a UK-recognized professional Social Work qualification and be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). A Post Qualifying Award in Child Care and Protection or Leadership and Management is highly desirable.
