About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHNs) - School Nurses to join our Healthy Child Programme 5-19 (HCP) team. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families across West Sussex.
As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in assessing care needs, developing and implementing personalized care plans, and providing clinical leadership within our skilled nursing team. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies, and schools to ensure the well-being of every child in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for children and young people within school settings.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on identified needs.
- Provide education and support to students, parents, and staff on a range of health topics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff members and students.
Essential Requirements
- Registered as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) with the NMC.
- Current knowledge of local and national health policies and guidelines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic record-keeping systems.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in teaching and presenting health information.
- Knowledge of child development and adolescent health issues.
