Job Description

Job Summary

The Software Technical Lead will be responsible for leading a team of software developers in the development and support of software packages that utilize Test Equipment hardware to configure, verify, and validate the conformance and quality of our UK product range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Software Design Authority, ensuring quality standards are met, and providing technical guidance and mentorship to the team.
  • Lead, empower, and draw the best from the team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Work with members of the Group to identify potential improvement opportunities and support their implementation.
  • Maintain and communicate the current project schedule, coordinating with the team to meet delivery milestones and prioritizing as needed.
  • Responsibility for the generation of quarterly teamwork load forecasts.
  • Liaise directly with both internal and external customers.
  • Have an awareness of allocated project budgets and ensure that they are used efficiently.
  • Support the creation of project and release documentation.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will be qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering-based subject, such as Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software, or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in the Defence/Aerospace or safety-regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Able to innovate and think critically to solve complex software problems.
