About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Director to lead the construction of our 450 MW Loch Na Cathrach pump storage project in Scotland.

This is a unique opportunity to join Statkraft, Europe's largest generator of renewable energy, and contribute to the delivery of a major hydroelectric project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the construction project, ensuring timely, within-budget, and high-quality delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and business ethics.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project steering committees and service providers.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and manage project-specific risks, reporting to the Project Steering Committee.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with designers, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
Requirements
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in leading large capital construction projects, with a strong focus on safety, time, cost, quality, and risk management.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience in hydropower construction or other heavy civil construction projects, with a strong understanding of international standards and best practices.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, with a strong focus on HSE and business ethics.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of commercial principles, including contract management and negotiation.
  • Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably civil engineering.
