About the Role:

This is a full-time, long-term position in a secondary school rated 'Good' by Ofsted. The successful candidate will work on a one-to-one basis with a student who requires support with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to the student, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the student in a variety of settings, including academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the student, their family, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs in a mainstream or special educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Experience of working with a variety of professionals, including SENCOs and external agencies.
