Investment Analytics and Data (IAD)

Within Dimensional, IAD is responsible for managing all aspects of investment data, from acquisition to distribution. We analyze data to generate insights, create reports for internal and external stakeholders, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our datasets.

The Role: ESG Data Analyst

We are seeking a skilled ESG Data Analyst to join our London-based IAD team. In this role, you will contribute to our global ESG initiatives by:

  • Optimizing the ESG data management process, encompassing collection, analysis, and integration of data for both internal and external use.
  • Conducting in-depth research on existing and emerging ESG regulations and frameworks globally, ensuring alignment with Dimensional's data points and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant ESG regulations such as SFDR, EU Taxonomy, TCFD, SDR, etc., by providing fundamental data for reporting purposes and staying abreast of evolving ESG standards.
  • Developing and maintaining systematic validation processes to guarantee the quality and accuracy of ESG datasets used in investment strategies, regulatory reporting, and client communications.
  • Supporting Dimensional's operational processes related to ESG investments, ensuring that implemented tools and systems adhere to established business logic.
  • Taking ownership of defining and refining ESG as a data product within Dimensional.
  • Collaborating with investment teams to provide insightful analysis and address complex questions regarding our ESG-driven investment strategies.
  • Gathering and defining requirements for core business systems in partnership with cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Contributing to ongoing efficiency initiatives through automation, process optimization, and implementation of best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field is required; a Master's degree or relevant experience is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current ESG regulations and initiatives, including SFDR, EU Taxonomy, TCFD, UN Global Compact Principles, ESMA Name Rules, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG datasets from various data vendors such as MSCI and ISS.
  • Proven experience working with large datasets, conducting quantitative analysis, and utilizing SQL, T-SQL, or similar data management tools. Familiarity with Python is a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple projects effectively and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy while maintaining a holistic perspective.
  • Ability to analyze complex information from diverse sources and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Intellectual curiosity combined with meticulous attention to detail.
