Job Description

Role Summary:

The Commissioning Engineer will play a critical role in the planning, execution, and documentation of commissioning activities on projects and programs of works in a safe and efficient manner. This position will operate within a matrix management arrangement, reporting to the GTb Commissioning Manager for project allocation and the assigned Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Design Commissioning Plans in collaboration with Client commissioning representatives.
  • Create Delivery Commissioning Plans, supplemented by Risk Assessments and Commissioning Procedures, to outline steps for each stage of the project.
  • Lead and document commissioning meetings, including HAZCOMM reviews, to ensure project-specific requirements and program are met.
  • Coordinate site commissioning activities to ensure project requirements and program are met.
  • Ensure commissioning documentation is completed and available on the Common Data Environment, demonstrating testing requirements are fulfilled.
  • Agree and deliver training plans with Clients, ensuring content is delivered in accordance with project program requirements, including coordination of suppliers/subcontractors for specialist training.
  • Mark up drawings and documents amended during commissioning, publishing to the Common Data Environment as the basis for final versions.
  • Lead reliability and performance testing, producing and accepting reports highlighting compliance with Client objectives.
  • Assist Project Managers in resolving post-completion defects.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of sewage and water treatment processes, systems, and typical M&E plant/equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CSCS or ECS card in an appropriate discipline.
  • CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
  • 18th Edition electrical qualifications – BS761:2018 electrical.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • SMSTS.
  • COMPEX EX.f / DSEAR Awareness.
  • Certified PROFIBUS Installer.
  • PROFIBUS Commissioning and Maintenance.
  • Confined Spaces Entry (Medium Risk).
