Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Redhill, Surrey. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing control systems for various industries, including pharmaceutical, healthcare, semi-conductor, and solar panel manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and development of control systems, excluding software, for projects.
  • Contribute to project execution teams, including project managers and mechanical engineers.
  • Attend pre/post tender and contract meetings related to controls and electrical requirements.
  • Review and analyze project specifications, particularly on electrical, instrumentation, and controls requirements to identify costs and implementation strategies.
  • Produce detailed electrical controls and power distribution designs, including wiring diagrams, electrical control schematics, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
  • Provide technical assistance in obtaining quotations and preparing sub-contracts for control and electrical systems.
  • SOURCE AND PROCUREMENT OF CONTROL/ELECTRICAL HARDWARE AND PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION.
  • Maintain project time schedules and budgets in coordination with the Project Management team.
  • Manage electrical control panel construction and skid wiring activities, including progress reporting.
  • Assist in control commissioning activities, including FAT/SAT/OQ.
  • Manage electrical installation activities, including testing and commissioning on sites, and managing subcontractors and progress reports.
  • Manage and resolve any issues arising during the project lifecycle and ensure timely resolution of electrical issues with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and international standards and regulations.
  • Commercial and technical responsibility for all elements of C&I.
Requirements:
  • Substantial understanding of electrical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of CAD software and other electrical design tools.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, and standards related to electrical engineering.
