Your Role:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Manufacturing Specialist to join our Boston facility. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing the manufacturing capabilities for our high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with engineers and physicists to establish and refine manufacturing processes.
  • Operating and maintaining CNC machinery and other systems essential for building and testing HTS magnet systems.
  • Engaging in cryogenics, CNC machining, soldering, brazing, vacuum welding, and utilizing specialized equipment.
  • Implementing safety protocols and ensuring a focus on quality and reliability in all operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a manufacturing strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Set up and operate a 5-axis CNC machine for various machining tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with the Manufacturing Supervisor and engineering teams to foster a productive work environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to enhance team capabilities.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machine operations to guarantee product specifications and identify any malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing activities.
  • Interpret assembly drawings and detailed work instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
  • Proven track record as a CNC Machinist or in a similar capacity.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC machines (5-axis preferred) and related technologies.
  • Experience in safety reviews and investigations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical stamina.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in engineering technology or a related field.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and hands-on experience with HTS or cryogenic systems.
  • Experience with CNC/CAM coding and metrology systems.
