Job Summary:
Sprint Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their team and contribute to the success of their fleet maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostic fault finding, and reactive repairs to customer fleets.
- Perform general vehicle maintenance duties, ensuring customer fleets are safe, legal, and fit for duties at all times.
- Conduct maintenance inspections of heavy vehicles, preventative maintenance inspections to the highest standard, ensuring all vehicles are safe and legal and fit for duties.
- Prepare vehicles to the highest standard for MOT, ensuring minimum number of failures.
- Service and maintain vehicles to the highest standard, ensuring vehicles are operating safely and compliant with legislation.
- Ensure wheels removed are refitted in the correct manner and wheel nuts torqued using the company's calibrated torque wrenches to the correct settings.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the Workshop & vehicles and work area.
- Ensure the company complies with their commitment to ISO14001/9001 accreditation, IRTE, FTA by maintaining the best possible standard of work.
- Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork with good work practice.
- Knowledge of the use/operations of all automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work on own initiative.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance.
- Electrical circuits and systems knowledge.
- Knowledge of engineering procedures and Health & Safety legislation.
- Inspection of vehicles for scheduled maintenance.
