Position Overview

Senior Commercial Lead required for a prominent offshore wind energy developer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the bidding process in collaboration with Project Managers and Engineering teams.
  • Develop and implement the bidding strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall Procurement Strategy.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering personnel to ensure that tender and contract specifications align with project scope and deliverables.
  • Engage with Legal advisors as necessary regarding tendering and contractual matters.
  • Conduct commercial assessments of bids and collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering to formulate contract award recommendations for senior management review.
  • Create and maintain registers of contractual obligations, monitoring compliance from both the project and contractors.
  • Manage contractor payment applications, coordinating with Project Managers to ensure adherence to payment terms.
  • Work closely with finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Contribute to commercial risk evaluations and actively participate in risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure contractor adherence to open book tendering processes to maximize project value.
  • Achieve commercial targets, including cost reductions for assigned contracts.
  • Assist the Project Controls team in budget monitoring and forecasting.
  • Prepare commercial contributions for monthly progress reports.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with the project Supply Chain Plan.
  • Represent the project at industry events to foster relationships with local suppliers.
Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract management.

Proven market knowledge and experience working with offshore foundation supply and transport & installation contractors.

Experience in commercial management of contracts for large-scale energy projects, preferably in offshore or onshore wind sectors.

Strong background in commercial tender negotiations and managing multiple contracts.

Familiarity with European Community Laws, International Commercial and Financial Laws, and Contract Law is desirable.

Accreditation as a member of the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management is preferred.

Ideal candidates will have been engaged in the same offshore wind farm project for an extended period, demonstrating stability and expertise in the field.
