Exciting Opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at The Huntsman Group in London. As a key member of our Operational Engineering team, you will work on a variety of projects, collaborating with top talent and enjoying a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the mechanical services design on large projects and take charge of smaller ones, ensuring exceptional results and client satisfaction
  • Provide expert technical advice to clients, develop innovative mechanical designs, and contribute to feasibility studies and technical due diligence reports
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and top-tier results
  • Conduct site inspections, commissioning witnessing, and condition surveys to ensure buildings are performing optimally
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on design, technical, and quality standards
  • Enjoy a diverse range of projects, from UK-based to international, and experience the thrill of working on complex and innovative schemes
Requirements:
  • Strong technical knowledge in Mechanical Design Engineering and a solid understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design
  • Experience in undertaking MEP building services surveys, peer reviewing, and delivering parallel projects with ease
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • A passion for delivering high-quality work, identifying opportunities for growth, and supporting the development of others
  • Autonomy, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new challenges
  • Previous consultancy experience and a strong appreciation for complementary specialisms (acoustics, fire engineering, computer modeling, etc.)
  • A Chartered Engineer (or close to) with a keen eye for quality and a passion for innovative solutions
