About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at National Grid. As a key member of our Procure to Pay and O2C Delivery team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Accounts Payable processes and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage internal and external queries from business functions and suppliers, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to resolve key items and drive process excellence initiatives.
- Deliver process improvements and implement changes to enhance our Accounts Payable processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements, participating in internal and external reviews.
- Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including Ariba and Coupa.
- Coordinate with the Front Desk operations and guide the team to resolve exceptions.
- Monitor CSAT scores and drive root cause analysis to improve responses from offshore teams.
- Perform daily dashboard reviews and month-end metrics analysis.
- Manage queries and escalations, working closely with offshore teams to coordinate and respond to business teams and suppliers.
- Drive process excellence initiatives through P2P sprints and support the implementation of Service Now upgrades.
Requirements
- Qualified or near-qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, etc.).
- Experience in planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of core financial processes.
- Financial modeling, advanced Excel, and Power BI skills, with a passion for process improvement.
- Strong management accounting background.
- Proactive self-starter with ability to manage own workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Pragmatic and adaptable, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and collaboration skills.
- Results-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
