Work Environment

Welcome to Timberlea, a 24-hour supported living facility that has been providing care for individuals with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Needs for over a decade.

We serve up to twelve individuals with mild to moderate Learning Disabilities, customizing our services to promote their independence. Our residents often require extensive personal care due to their complex needs.

Shift Details:

The working hours for this position are from 9 PM to 7 AM. This role involves working independently with on-call support available.

We utilize a digital social care record system to facilitate daily documentation, allowing you to focus more on the individuals we support.

Key Responsibilities

This position is hands-on, with no two days being alike. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Encouraging the independence of those we assist
  • Supporting a variety of daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and organizing outings
  • Planning activities both within the home and in the surrounding community
  • Enhancing residents' life skills and personal interests
  • Ensuring the safety and health of residents
  • Assisting with personal care requirements
  • Performing manual handling tasks
  • Aiding residents with their medication
  • Maintaining accurate records in accordance with required standards and contributing to service evaluations

Ideal Candidate Profile

What attributes and skills should I possess?

While familiarity with learning disabilities and complex needs is advantageous, it is not mandatory. What is crucial is that you are:

  • Compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated
  • Adaptable, patient, and open-minded
  • A collaborative team member with abundant energy
  • Capable of demonstrating effective communication skills
  • Physically able to perform the necessary duties, including manual handling
