Job Title: Clinical Governance Director

We are seeking an exceptional leader to develop and lead our Clinical Governance across our award-winning Charity as our new Clinical Governance Director.

This role will develop the clinical governance strategy and lead a team to deliver this strategy through the creation and management of clinical support frameworks, provision of expertise and leadership in clinical governance, quality assurance, and improvement.

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of clinical governance strategy, and national and local initiatives that improve clinical support and quality of care for the people we support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical governance strategy and national and local initiatives
  • Lead a team to deliver clinical governance strategy through clinical support frameworks and quality assurance
  • Provide expertise and leadership in clinical governance, quality assurance, and improvement
  • Ensure clinical governance excellence and quality of care for the people we support
  • Lead and role model team culture that stimulates innovation, positive risk-taking, self-reflection, adaptability, and continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership, expert advice, information, and support to the Executive Team, Board of Trustees, managers, and colleagues on clinical matters
  • Develop and implement effective monitoring systems and quality indicators to report on and promote continuous improvement in the quality of care
  • Work with the Head of Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement and the Head of Information & Regulatory Governance to implement and monitor the effectiveness of Quality Improvement Plans
  • Lead and support the Clinical Governance Team, ensuring each member receives appropriate professional and clinical supervision and development
Requirements:
  • Skilled at influencing and negotiating at Executive Level
  • Ability to convey complex clinical information in a compelling and succinct way and garner buy-in from the Executive team
  • Ability to develop national policy guidance and create practical plans to turn this into meaningful action
  • A proven ability to plan strategically
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly effective negotiating and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience operating effectively at Executive Level
  • Understanding of clinical governance, risk management, safeguarding, and quality assurance as it applies in Social Care
  • Depth of experience in social care and independent living
  • A relevant health, allied health, or social work professional qualification would be beneficial but is not essential
  • A current professional registration would be beneficial
