Job Description

The Group Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing plays a pivotal role in driving L&G's diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record of delivering impactful initiatives that foster a culture of belonging and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing team at L&G, driving the development and implementation of the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.
  2. Collaborate with senior leaders, HR, and other stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, ratings agencies, and industry partners.
  4. Provide strategic guidance and support to the Group D&I Executive Sponsor and Senior Executives nominees to the Group D&I Council.
  5. Own the linkage between DI&W and how they contribute to L&G's overall culture, building consistent messaging to explain how and why DI&W matter and create commercial value for the firm.
  6. Lead the delivery of plans to improve workforce diversity and wider culture, collaborating with other teams to deliver initiatives and using data and insight to understand and resolve issues.
  7. Shape and support L&G's active employee networks and groups, supporting the development and implementation of DI&W policy.
  8. Own the definition of DI&W key performance indicators and provide regular progress reporting to internal and external audiences.
Requirements:
  • Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion with an excellent knowledge of external trends, best practices, challenges, and how to apply them in a business context.
  • Experience delivering targeted programmes of work from inception to completion in a matrix/divisional environment.
  • Presence, impact, and high emotional intelligence, able to establish warm and genuine relationships at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Track record of building effective partnerships with business and HR leaders.
  • Experience of writing Board papers, presenting, and influencing Board/ExCo level.
  • Innovative, motivated, self-starter with the skills to deal with resource constraints, changing priorities, and navigating ambiguity.
  • Ability to use MI and Data to manage progress, identify and mitigate risks and issues to inform decision-making and focus.
  • Experience of leading high-performing teams and managing budgets.
  • Experience of working within Financial Services or a complex, regulated environment.
