We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Animal Management Technician to join our team at New College Swindon. As a key member of our Animal Management Centre, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standard of care and welfare for our animals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain optimal husbandry standards for our animals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners to share best practices in animal husbandry
  • Support students in practical lessons and assist lecturers in curriculum delivery
  • Document and maintain accurate records of animal health checks, feeding logs, and other relevant information
  • Work with the curriculum lead to develop and guide future provision
  • Manage animal collections and oversee import/export processes based on course needs
  • Monitor stock and order resources to support the curriculum
  • Provide strong communication skills to build relationships with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Hold at least a level 3 qualification in Animal Management
  • Have 2 years' practical experience in a similar role
  • Strong communicator with a focus on animal welfare
  • Applicants with aquarist experience are particularly welcome
