Job Opportunity for a Strategic Procurement Leader

Procurement Director - Chester (Hybrid 2-3 days in the office) - £65,000-£70,000 + Benefits

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional to join a growing Pharmaceutical company at a pivotal stage of their life cycle. Following recent acquisition, there have been significant investments in the business, and a need for a Procurement Director has arisen.

This is a standalone role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer - It is a unique, genuine greenfield opportunity for someone to shape and create their own function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize the sourcing and procurement of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
  • Help create and oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Take the lead in conducting market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage the inventory of products at the modern distribution center, optimizing stock levels and minimizing wastage.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes, ideally with previous experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience managing inventory and logistics is desirable.
