About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Manager to join our team at Avara Foods. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our technical function, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, and championing our quality proposition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement technical strategies to improve site standards and GMP
  • Lead and manage the technical team, ensuring they are effectively trained, coached, and developed
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including animal welfare and environmental regulations
  • Maintain and improve our Quality Management System to ensure food safety, legal compliance, and customer satisfaction
  • Support the delivery of our Avara Quality proposition and food safety culture
  • Provide technical monitoring and auditing to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Review and implement corrective action plans to address non-conformances
  • Coordinate the investigation of customer complaints and ensure findings and action plans are communicated
Requirements:
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment or fast-paced organization at Technical Manager level
  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and other food safety management systems
  • Strong technical knowledge and leadership skills, with a minimum of 3-5 years managing a team
  • Food-related degree or higher-level qualification, with a commitment to professional development
  • Proven ability to develop and engage teams, with a proactive approach to food safety and quality
