Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with autism and challenging behavior, promoting their emotional and social development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a culture of respect and understanding.
- Assist in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities, ensuring students receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support students' emotional and social development, promoting positive behavior and reducing challenging behavior.
- Support students in developing essential life skills, including communication, self-regulation, and independence.
- Collaborate with the SEN team to create and adapt resources for individual students, ensuring their needs are met and their progress is tracked.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, providing valuable insights for teachers and other professionals.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings, preferably with students with autism and challenging behavior.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of students and the school.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques, with the ability to implement them effectively.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and provide valuable insights for teachers and other professionals.
