Position Overview

This role presents an exciting opportunity to become an essential member of the support team at 14 Regiment Royal Artillery, which focuses on providing comprehensive education and training for military vehicle operation.
We are looking to expand our current team with two newly established instructor positions. Key Responsibilities
The Driving Instructor will be responsible for guiding newly qualified Army drivers through Service Driver Conversion (SDC) Courses. The role includes:
- Instructing trainees on the theoretical aspects of driving military vehicles in accordance with established standards.
- Educating trainees on the necessary motor transport documentation.
- Training trainees on how to operate military vehicles on public roads and in off-road conditions, both during the day and at night.
- Providing instruction on various SDC-related skills, including vehicle components, convoy driving, tactical driving techniques, vehicle maintenance, and emergency procedures.
- Overseeing testing processes and managing related documentation.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must possess a Category C Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 2 years with no more than 3 penalty points) and a C+E Licence for at least 3 months. Due to the nature of the role involving individuals under 18, successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure Barring Services) Security clearance check.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
- Deliver specialized training effectively.
- Conduct both formal and informal assessments.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to students in a vocational training context.
