About The Team:
As a Control Systems Specialist, you will serve as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team, focusing on all aspects of control systems, maintenance engineering, sensors, PLCs, communication protocols, and automation for the site. Your collaboration with facilities and maintenance teams will be crucial in maintaining and repairing conveyance, automation, and facilities equipment to enhance operational uptime and improve system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in hands-on activities to actively monitor, diagnose, and repair systems, ensuring high equipment availability for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned automation, robotics, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with out-of-service equipment, serving as an escalation point for junior technicians and liaising with leadership and vendors as necessary.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and relevant ticketing systems.
- Mentor maintenance personnel to develop their skills and knowledge in automation, controls, and robotics.
- Lead root cause analysis for significant downtime incidents.
- Act as a resource for technical issues and spearhead network-wide root cause analysis efforts.
- Enhance maintenance personnel knowledge on intermediate to advanced automation, controls, and robotics.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on the commissioning of new control systems.
- Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to leadership regarding work quality and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and/or modify preventive maintenance procedures to standardize practices across the network and enhance effectiveness.
Who You Are:
- Experienced in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
- Holds a degree or qualifications in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiar with working in manufacturing and/or production environments, particularly in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Proficient in PLC-controlled automation and automated processes.
- Extensive experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, including programming, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experienced in material handling, flow, and capacity visualization and monitoring.
