Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic pharmacy team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hospital setting, providing specialist clinical pharmacy services to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for leading and delivering a high-quality medicines management service, participating in multidisciplinary teams, and providing expert pharmaceutical advice.

• Lead and deliver a specialist clinical pharmacy service to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide a ward-based medicines management service and participate in multidisciplinary teams in specialist clinical areas.
• Act as Directorate Pharmacist, providing expert specialist pharmaceutical advice and reports on medicines expenditure.
• Provide professional and clinical cover for the dispensary services.
• Deputise and support the Pharmacy Manager as required.
• Provide training and education to all pharmacy staff, meeting statutory, professional, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience of post-registration in a hospital pharmacy environment.
• Recent experience of providing ward/clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.
• Experience of workplace tutoring/mentoring.

• Masters Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent).
• Pre-registration competency-based training.
• Postgraduate clinical specialist knowledge acquired through diploma-level training.
• Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPC) or eligible for membership.
• Accredited tutor for Clinical Pharmacy Diploma.
• Independent prescriber.
• Working towards RPS Faculty membership.
