Java Developer for Algo Trading

Job Description

At Vertus Partners, we are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our Algo Trading team in London. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for developing business logic and technical implementation of cutting-edge trading ideas received directly from our Quant teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Java-based solutions for Algo Trading
  • Collaborate with Quant teams to develop and deploy trading strategies
  • Develop and maintain automated testing platforms for Algo Trading
  • Monitor and optimize Algo Trading performance
  • Advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices
  • Work with distributed systems and ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions

Requirements:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Core Java
  • Experience working on Market Making, SOR (Smart Order Routers), or FIX Connectivity
  • Proven experience in Algo Trading from previous projects
  • Strong understanding of TDD/BDD practices
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn new tools, techniques, and languages
  • Experience in Equities Algo Trading is highly beneficial
