Your Responsibilities:

In the role of Student Behaviour Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting students to navigate challenges and achieve their academic goals. Your responsibilities will include direct engagement with students, providing individualized support, implementing behaviour management techniques, and promoting a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Key Duties:
  • Student Support: Assist students facing behavioural challenges in developing coping mechanisms, social skills, and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Behaviour Management: Collaborate with educators and the SENCO to design and uphold effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Mentorship: Establish strong, supportive relationships, acting as a positive role model for students.
  • Classroom Assistance: Partner with teachers to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Progress Monitoring: Observe and report on student behaviour and engagement, providing constructive feedback to educators and school leaders.
  • Program Development: Participate in the design and implementation of behaviour intervention programs and workshops.
Candidate Profile:
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people in a mentoring, support, or behaviour management capacity is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication abilities and excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are essential.
  • Empathy: A compassionate approach is crucial for understanding and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Adaptability: Ability to respond effectively to the varying needs of students and the educational environment.
  • DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check is a requirement for this position.
