Job Title: Apprentice Controls Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our remote support department, you will play a vital role in providing technical assistance to our customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Offer professional telephone support to customers, resolving operational and systematic issues effectively.
  • Provide training and support to LTS and Customer on-site teams, reviewing and identifying common issues that could be resolved remotely or through additional site training.
  • Maintain and manage the ticket system and department documentation, ensuring seamless communication with senior management and support colleagues.
  • Be the technical expert for any Controls related issues on a range of sites across the UK, Europe, and the US, escalating problems within the wider business where required.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex technical problems, utilizing strong planning and decision-making skills.
About You:
  • Hold materials handling / automation experience, either as a controls engineer or an electrically biased maintenance or commissioning engineer.
  • Have experience in Industrial Control Systems (Siemens Step 7 to TIA Portal) and knowledge of Drives and Networks within an automated system.
  • Be able to read Electrical drawings to fault find and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience dealing directly with customers / end users and be comfortable with MS Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook products.
