About the Role

Girling Jones Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in the Infrastructure - Water business unit. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the preparation and submission of tenders, working under various forms of procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Appraisal of tender documents to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Preparation of material and sub-contract enquiries, including the selection of prospective subcontractors.
  • Attending strategy and opportunity meetings with project teams to discuss project requirements and feasibility.
  • Visiting sites to identify site-specific risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Contributing to the design development process and attending design team meetings as required.
  • Preparing tender Bills of Quantities and analytical cost estimates, including preliminaries.
  • Developing budgets and cost plans to ensure project financial viability.
Requirements
  • A Construction-related degree or similar qualification.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, with extensive experience in analytical estimating.
  • Experience of using estimating software and all forms of contract, including traditional, partnering, design & build, 2-stage tenders, and frameworks.
