OLG Recruitment is seeking a Lead Technical Trainer to support our client in delivering exceptional training services across the UK. This is a permanent, field-based position that requires extensive travel throughout the country. A company vehicle will be provided for this role. The standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with the possibility of remote work flexibility.
Role Overview:
In this position, you will collaborate closely with customers across our value chain, providing high-level technical training and support. Your responsibilities will include system compliance, product usage guidance, and conducting practical demonstrations. With your trade experience, you will deliver high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions and product training to professionals in the drywall sector, ensuring they are well-versed in the correct application of materials and systems. Your expertise will also contribute to the Research and Development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Health and Safety protocols to guarantee the safety of yourself and others.
- Promote products and systems, as well as the Technical Academies, in a professional manner through various channels including presentations and customer interactions.
- Provide support to internal teams (R&D, Technical Projects, Marketing, Manufacturing) using your trade knowledge, and assist with trade events and training sessions.
- Deliver impactful CPDs, training sessions, and demonstrations to diverse stakeholders, including customers and educational institutions across the UK and Ireland.
- Develop and manage new CPDs and training courses to address industry skill gaps, ensuring flexible agendas and workshops.
- Oversee the training schedule, manage bookings for CPDs and toolbox talks, and report on training KPIs.
- Assist in the case management process by providing feedback and support to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate on product testing at independent laboratories and relay necessary feedback to ensure product success.
- Maintain accurate records of site reports and project data within the Customer Relationship Management system.
- Drive continuous improvements within the External Technical Team and the broader Technical Team.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities necessary to complete your role effectively.
- Possess a background in the drywall or construction industry.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Training qualifications such as Petals or AET are advantageous.
- Demonstrate strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Be proficient in using digital platforms and Microsoft applications.
- Hold a valid UK driving license.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and structured problem-solving abilities.
- Be self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Manage your diary efficiently.
