Job Summary:
Flying Trade Group is seeking a skilled Production Operative to join our team in Harwich, Essex. As a Production Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the success of our manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and pack food products, label cartons, and stack them efficiently.
- Organize production processes to maximize efficiency and meet targets, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure quality standards for all products are met, identifying and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Adhere to company procedures for Health, Hygiene, and Safety, as well as Food Safety, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage the operation of assigned production lines, reporting any issues or breakdowns to the Production Manager or Engineers.
- Identify areas for improvement in production methods and processes, suggesting solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable, but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Attention to detail is crucial, with good numeracy and written skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, with a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Achieving high standards of punctuality and attendance, adhering to company production rules, and promoting a safe working environment.
- Manual handling is required, with training provided.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Vertical Form Fill Sealing machines.
- Filling out records, including weight, metal checks, H&S, quality, and food safety.
- Working in a labor-intensive, hands-on environment.
- Forklift driving.
- Food Production/Packing/Machine Operator experience.
