Job Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Psychological Support Assistant to become part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team. This role is focused on delivering services under supervision within our secure facilities designed for male patients.

Our secure services encompass a broad range of clinical offerings, including low and medium secure mental health care for men, as well as specialized services for women and community-based forensic support. We are committed to providing comprehensive mental health and personality disorder services in collaboration with criminal justice systems.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, the successful candidate will collaborate with a licensed Psychologist on a 16-bedded unit dedicated to admission, evaluation, and rehabilitation for male patients. The role is integrated within the established NSFT Secure Services Psychology Team. You will have the chance to conduct risk assessments, mental health evaluations, and brief psychological interventions for service users, in addition to co-facilitating therapeutic group sessions. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of positive behavior support strategies and assist the ward team with psychological insights and formulations. This role involves working with a diverse range of mental health challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and neurodevelopmental issues. Additionally, there will be opportunities to gain knowledge in offense-specific assessments and interventions provided by our team.
