Overview & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity of Elliot Group, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of essential procedures and systems for financial oversight. Responsibilities include protecting assets, preparing and scrutinizing financial statements, and overseeing cost, tax, and financial accounting as well as reporting. The position serves as the main liaison with external auditors and guarantees adherence to local GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Background and Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting along with a recognized professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA) is mandatory. A robust background in diversified financial and accounting roles is essential, particularly within manufacturing and service sectors, although experience in other operational areas is advantageous. Exceptional analytical abilities and strong communication skills are critical. Familiarity with policies, procedures, corporate governance, and well-organized administrative capabilities are highly valued. The ability to manage and coordinate substantial data volumes under tight deadlines is equally important.

Nature of the Role

Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, JSOX directives, and tax laws. Consolidate, analyze, and accurately report the financial performance of the organization in a timely manner. Follow established policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect the organization’s assets (cash, working capital, intellectual property, reputation, and compliance risks). Oversee the treasury functions, ensuring optimal cash management and precise forecasting. Analyze and interpret financial data for various management levels. Foster continuous improvement initiatives. Provide support and guidance to local operations and the sales division.

Interaction with Others

Regular engagement with the EMA Controller, Corporate Controller, Business Unit leaders, and all levels of the Finance organization, along with interactions with external auditors, consultants, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

Supervision

Oversee the activities of the Accountants within the EMA Finance Shared Service Centre, who report indirectly to this position.

Specific Responsibilities and Competencies

Manage daily financial operations by adhering to established accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS, and delivering timely and accurate financial statements. Protect corporate assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies, laws, and regulations. Assist in tax accounting and planning to minimize effective tax liabilities while ensuring timely compliance with reporting obligations. Support the development and implementation of efficient automated accounting systems. Prepare calculations for standard costs related to materials, labor, overhead, and contract development, ensuring accurate inventory valuations. Provide analysis and recommendations for corrective actions regarding performance against financial plans. Assist in special projects as directed by the EMA Controller. Review intercompany transactions to ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations. Manage cash collection and treasury functions, preparing cash flow statements. Oversee payroll processes. Ensure that entity registrations are maintained and updated. Supervise the financial aspects of the ERP system.
