We are seeking a skilled Lift and Escalator Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Schindler Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lift and escalator equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repairs and replacement of components.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift and escalator equipment in cases of breakdown, and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Conduct regular inspections and checks on lift and escalator equipment, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies.
  • Carry out advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Work in accordance with Schindler Group's safety and environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current UK legal requirements.
  • Contribute to the company's safety objectives by maintaining and monitoring current safety systems, and implementing agreed changes to the safety management system.

Requirements:

  • Experience in lift and escalator servicing, maintenance, and repairs preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift and escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and within efficiencies.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels (client, service leader, inspectors).
  • Manual dexterity - requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting, and use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good administration skills and punctuality.
  • Full UK driving license.
