Account Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our commercial team at Hughes Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer accounts, driving business growth, and achieving positive results.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and secure new accounts
  • Maximise sales revenue, margins, and performance by driving business growth and achieving positive results
  • Plan and prioritise sales activities through developing and delivering PR and marketing campaigns
  • Conduct customer review meetings
  • Drive to meet and exceed agreed KPIs
  • Management of customer questionnaires/store visits and audits
  • Management of Service Level Agreements
  • Arranging and attending client/potential client meetings where applicable
  • Compose relevant proposals for potential customers
  • Respond to and follow up on sales enquiries, customer enquiries, complaints
  • Liaise with NPD and Technical Departments on product development and launches
  • Reporting
  • Participation in continuous improvement project work

Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline OR a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience in the food industry
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Demonstrable experience in sales and marketing within the FMCG industry
  • Organised and able to prioritise own workload
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills (Sufficient level of written and spoken English to maintain levels of safety)
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and coherently with other team members
  • Flexibility with working times to ensure consistency of service level agreements
