Job Title: M&E Quantity Surveyor

Cedar Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading Engineering organisation in recruiting for a skilled M&E Quantity Surveyor.

The role is a permanent position within the Commercial Team, working on a large-scale rail infrastructure project with the opportunity to take on smaller framework projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are running in accordance with the budgeted forecast, maximising profit through cost control and optimisation of variations to the Works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure commercial and financial targets are met
  • Build strong relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Contribute to regular and accurate reporting to the Commercial Manager
  • Carry out valuations for payment applications
  • Manage project sub-contractor and supplier accounts
  • Identify, notify, value and agree changes to the project
  • Ensure the Works are managed in accordance with the contract terms
  • Support tender processes as required
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Identify project and business opportunities
  • Liaise with the Company's Procurement and Tendering teams

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of standard forms of contracts
  • Experience of working in an M&E setting
  • Experience of tendering and pre-contract cost analysis
  • Understanding of conflict avoidance, conflict management and dispute resolution procedures
  • Negotiating and settling accounts
