AWE is seeking a dedicated Electrical/Control & Instrumentation Engineer to provide expert Electrical and Control & Instrumentation Engineering support for various AWE initiatives. This position presents a fantastic opportunity for professional growth and skill enhancement.

Compensation: £29,640 - £34,000 plus comprehensive benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing expertise in Electrical and Control & Instrumentation engineering services to deliver effective solutions throughout the operational lifecycle. This includes creating modification packages, managing plant changes, and acting as an informed client in acquiring or specifying engineering services or products to a high standard
  • Identifying and addressing business risks or opportunities related to the condition of engineered systems and structures, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, quality, and reliability
  • Taking ownership of engineering challenges or opportunities. Planning, managing, and collaborating to provide sound, safe solutions that facilitate the delivery of the program and our societal obligations
  • Offering advice, guidance, progress reports, and supporting documentation to stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Operations Management, Process Owners, Operators, Maintainers, and Occupants
  • Complying with Company Management System requirements, relevant Technical Standards & Legislation, and business controls. Maintaining professional, ethical, and courteous conduct
  • Applying Maintenance & Reliability Principles as directed by planning and analysis from Failure Modes & Effects Analysis. Evaluating relevant metrics and contributing to Key Performance Indicators and other reporting as necessary. Assisting in Reliability Centred Maintenance planning and conducting Root Cause Analysis

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in some or all of the following areas:

  • Building Services Engineering (including UPS, HV - LV, BMS, HVAC, water systems, etc.) and industrial processes, with an understanding of associated electrical & control systems
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, supporting ACOP, best practices, and common industry standards
  • Knowledge of higher hazard or regulated industries (such as nuclear, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, etc.)
  • Membership in an engineering institution and/or qualifications such as Eng Tech or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent
  • Previous experience in installation or maintenance is advantageous, although this role is more focused on consultancy services rather than hands-on technical tasks
