Job Title: Quarry and Recycling Manager

We are seeking an experienced Quarry and Recycling Manager to lead our team at Lockington Quarry, located in Derbyshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the environmental, safety, and operational standards of the quarry and recycling operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the contract crush and earth works contractors
  • Deliver toolbox talks and ensure compliance with business policies and procedures
  • Manage daily environmental, sustainability, and operational requirements of the quarry and recycling area
  • Ensure the permitted recycling area operates compliantly in-line with its environmental permit/waste management license
  • Drive operational performance through KPIs
  • Resolve queries assigned to the sector in a timely manner
  • Take responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
  • Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
  • Manage the budget for the plant, including fixed and variable costs
Requirements:
  • Experience in Quarry operations
  • Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and recycling programmes
  • Previous experience in a Sand and Gravel Quarry environment
  • Previous experience in a recycling environment
  • Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
  • Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
Desirable Qualifications:
  • A role-associated Degree in Environmental or Sustainability
  • NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
